Getting a dog or other pet is not an easy decision and it should never be. Because once you open your home to your pet, it quickly becomes part of the family and gets its place in your heart. And you unspokenly start putting his needs before your own, so you’re even ready to rush back from a trip if something happens to your pet. Proof of this is the history of Adriana Petrova and her family’s pet, the Yorkshire terrier Oliver.
“Our family consists of four people – me, my husband and my two children, 2 years old and 7 years old, girls. Our puppy is called Oliver, he is three years old, a Yorkshire terrier. I always wanted to have a puppy, to give my love and to a creature that is not human, but needs as much attention as my children, of course. We raise him with a lot of love and I think that having a pet at home helps in the upbringing of the children, to take care of another animal, to give him pellets to eat , that every family should have its own pet, whether it is a dog, a kitten or some exotic animal…”
Not long ago, Oliver and his human family experienced trouble after the pet went missing, and his search involved not only Adriana and her family, but also their loved ones, acquaintances and even strangers. Fortunately, the story has a happy ending and actually shows that Oliver is a very smart dog, as his owner’s account makes clear:
“A few days ago we had to travel with the family out of town and we decided to leave Oliver exactly for two nights with my sister, who the dog is used to, since we spend the weekends together with my sister and her family, we left him for two days and in the evening it so happened that during a walk he broke away and ran away. We put a post on the social network and thank God, thanks to many calls from the kind people who responded, helped and the puppy was found alive and well, but very scared. I can tell the dog has been outside for about 24 hours, and it’s a pet dog, and all of a sudden he’s in an outdoor environment, and he’s the size of a kitten, so scared is afraid of everything, even of a cat. Our Oliver even became the reason for us to interrupt our trip and urgently return to Vidin. However, it turned out that dogs are extremely smart creatures and I can give example with Oliver as many people have been calling me saying they have spotted him in various places around town. These places are actually his familiar places. It was first seen in the nursery where my little one is, ie. he navigated himself to the manger to find us somehow. He didn’t find us, then he went to the other side of town to our big child’s garden, but he didn’t find us there either. Finally they found him in one of the big shops in town, where he was taken several times by me to shop together, he went in again in the hope of finding his owners, he didn’t find us, but other, good people, whom I want to thanks through the air of Radio VIDIN, they found him, called us and a happy ending had our case with Oliver…”
Adriana, as it has already become clear, is the mother of two children, girls, who have become more responsible after Oliver joined the family, but at the expense of this, they often argue about whose pet is the Yorkshire terrier. However, Oliver, who arrived in the family with his name and brought with him a lot of love and joy, is loved by his people without reservation:
“Both want him for themselves. One says he’s hers, the other also, and he belongs to everyone, the whole family. He’s not good for us to share him. But sometimes we come to such situations where the children they can’t share it, but it’s out of love, they just want to hug him, and he has to sleep with one of us, of course. But he has to be hugged anyway human caress and affection. He is the greatest dog in the world.”
