An emergency epidemic situation will not be introduced in the country due to the spread of whooping cough, because it is not necessary. This was announced in “The Day Begins” by the chief state health inspector Assoc. Angel Kunchev.
500 cases of whooping cough have already been registered in the country. According to Kunchev, no extraordinary measures are required, and quarantine will be introduced only in specific schools and kindergartens where there are sick people, and online training will also be introduced. At the moment, a peak of the disease cannot be predicted, as the spread of whooping cough is expected to subside by the end of the year, added Prof. Kunchev. Next week, the regulation will come into force, with which the first vaccination of babies is withdrawn by half a month and vaccines are provided for pregnant women who wish to be immunized.
“So far, 21 regions have registered cases, but within a few days it will reach all parts of the country, it is also a matter of actively searching for diagnostics. It has not yet covered the whole of Europe, and of course we will also enter this picture “, said Associate Professor Angel Kunchev, State Chief Inspector
“Let’s lower the age and allow it as a recommended immunization. The change in the regulation in the state gazette is expected to take place by the end of the month,” he added.
According to him, the state is responsible for providing vaccines for the immunization calendar.
“From the second month to 12 years. We will provide vaccines for pregnant women, we are sure that 2,000 are being imported today, and we are also working on additional vaccines, because the demand in Europe is huge,” emphasized the health inspector.
