The mayor of Yambol, Valentin Revanski, has scheduled the consultations to determine the composition of the sectional election commissions and mobile election commissions on the territory of the municipality for holding Elections for members of the European Parliament from the Republic of Bulgaria and Elections for people’s representatives in the 50th National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria. They will be held on April 30, Tuesday, at 2:00 p.m. in hall 107 in the Yambol Municipal Administration building, “G. S. Rakovski” No. 7.

The consultations are public and the parliamentary parties and coalitions in the 49th National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria participate in them. Other parties and coalitions that are not represented in the parliament may also participate in them.

During the consultations, parties and coalitions must submit a written proposal with the names, social security number and education of the proposed members, the position for which they are proposed, as well as a telephone number to contact them. In order to pay the remuneration of the members of the sectional election commissions, it is necessary to provide information about their bank accounts.

By order of the mayor of Yambol Municipality from April 15, 101 polling stations were formed. The order has been made public on the Yambol Municipality website www.yambol.bg.

Regional Election Commission – Yambol with Decision No. 9 – EP/NC of 25.04.2024 and Decision No. 10 – EP/NC of 25.04.2024 determined the number of members of each SEC, according to the number of voters in the respective polling station. 90 sectional election commissions will consist of nine members and 11 commissions will consist of seven members. Possibly, upon implementation of the provisions of the Election Code, up to 5 SIK and PSIK will be formed /for medical institutions, persons with difficulty moving and persons placed under quarantine/, whose composition will be six members each.

The composition of the CEC, the ratio between parties and coalitions, the places in the commissions’ leadership and the places for the members should comply with the requirements of the electoral legislation and Decision No. 3130 – EP/NC of 23.04.2024 of the CEC and the Methodological Guidelines thereto. The representatives of one party or coalition cannot have a majority in the sectional election commission. The leadership of the SEC consists of a chairman, a deputy chairman and a secretary, who cannot be from the same party or coalition. In order to facilitate the holding of the consultations, the municipal administration has prepared a project for the allocation of seats in the commissions, which is published together with the invitation to the parties and coalitions on the website of the municipality in the section Elections for members of the European Parliament; Elections for the National Assembly 09.06.2024 – https://yambol.bg/izbori-09-06-2024.
