A new playground delights children in the Buzludzha district of Veliko Tarnovo

A new playground was opened today in one of the largest neighborhoods of Veliko Tarnovo – “Buzludzha”. The space is located between the streets “Georgi Izmirliev” and “gen. Ivan Sarafov”, near the neighborhood grove and ecostadium.

Dozens of children and students from “Georgi S. Rakovski” Secondary School, “Vela Blagoeva” Secondary School and “Alen Mak” Kindergarten were the first to enjoy the new acquisition. The kids sang songs and then cut the ribbon.

The children’s playground is the result of a joint project of the Municipality of Veliko Tarnovo and the “Change in Generation” Association. The shaping of the terrain, its refinement, the construction of the foundation, the installation of a safe flooring for the little ones is the work of the Municipality, and the children’s facilities were donated by the association.

During the opening, the children were greeted by the mayor of the old capital city, Daniel Panov, and Tsvetomila Demirkova, the chairman of the organization.

“Veliko Tarnovo once again shows how with united efforts the local government, the non-governmental sector and people with big hearts like Tsvetomila Demirkova are changing the urban environment for the better. I hope that her example will inspire more and more people with whom we can work together for our city”, commented Daniel Panov and presented the Old See certificate to Tsvetomila Demirkova.

The wishes are that the fruitful cooperation will grow and deepen more and more, and that our city will enjoy its good fruits more and more”, commented Tsvetomila Demirkova.

In less than half a year, this is the second playground that the Municipality and the “Generational Change” Association have built – the first one was in the yard of MOBAL “Dr. Stefan Cherkezov”, right next to the children’s department, recalled Tsvetomila Demirkova.
