“We are observing an optimistic trend for the increase of passengers at Sofia Airport, with their number reaching nearly 7 million last year. The goal we have all set for ourselves is to complete the planned projects in the concessionaire’s investment plan as soon as possible, part of which is the zone for duty-free trade. I expect the new food and beverage zone to be opened soon,” said Deputy Minister Anna Natova.

She emphasized that with the implementation of these projects, one of the main tasks related to changing the look of Sofia Airport and turning it into a modern and attractive airport, meeting the high expectations of the ever-increasing number of passengers, is fulfilled.

The new duty-free shopping area at Sofia Airport, with an area of ​​1733 m², is operated by the international company Avolta, with which SOF Connect has a contract. It also offers Bulgarian products.
