Joanna Bukovska-Davidova entered into a love triangle on the Kardzhali stage

On April 25, the “Nevena Kokanova” drama theater in Yambol presented Harold Pinter’s play “Betrayal” on the Kardzhali stage.

The classic was very well received by local theater lovers. The director Georgi Mikhalkov has presented in an appropriate way an apparently ordinary story, told in an unusual way – the action develops from the denouement to the beginning. Of course, the role of the strong cast is crucial. Ioana Bukovska-Davidova and Dimo ​​Alexiev’s experience in the cinema makes it easier for them to act out the scenes arranged from back to front. Milen Karakamushev and Valcho Yanev made an important contribution to the wonderful show.

Betrayal explores the relationship between two friends and a woman caught in a love triangle. They go through different challenges such as betrayal, lies, trust, truth, forgiveness.

The translation of the classical play is by Galina Tomova-Stankeva, and the set designer of the production is Zhaneta Ivanova. The actors Ioana Bukovska-Davidova, Dimo ​​Alexiev, Milen Karakamushev and Valcho Yanev are in the roles.

Pinter’s particular style is not often preferred in today’s Bulgarian theater. Therefore, the realization of this production is an honor to the Yambol Theater and to the actors who are at the height of the author. Moreover, the presentation of classical plays gives them the special mission of showing the modern viewer real drama.
