More than 100 bachelors and masters graduates of the Faculty of Philology of the Southwest University “Neofit Rilski” received their diplomas for higher education.

The dean of the faculty, Prof. Dr. Radoslav Tsonev, opened the solemn ceremony and congratulated the graduates graduating from “Bulgarian Philology”, “Applied Linguistics”, “English Philology”, “English Language: Translation and Communications”, “English Language and Ethnology”, ” Pedagogy of Bulgarian and foreign language education” and the master’s programs at the Faculty.

“You will always be welcome with us – as masters and doctoral students, as our colleagues, guests and participants in various initiatives of the Faculty of Philology. Keep the memory of our faculty, of the university, of the teachers and employees, as we keep in our hearts the memory of every single student we have taught,” Assoc. Prof. Tsonev said in his welcoming speech.

The vice-rector for educational activities – master’s programs and continuing education, Assoc. Dr. Iliya Nedin, and the deputy deans of the Faculty of Philology, Assoc. Dr. Dafina Kostadinova and Assoc. Dr. Bilyana Todorova, also welcomed the graduates.

On behalf of the graduates, Emel Yusuf, who graduated from the specialty “Bulgarian Philology” with a grade of 6.00, spoke with words of gratitude.

Associate Professor Dr. Radoslav Tsonev, Associate Professor Dr. Dafina Kostadinova and Associate Professor Dr. Bilyana Todorova presented the diplomas to the graduates.

By tradition, the graduates of the graduating class received a plaque of the Southwest University “Neofit Rilski” for the high results shown during their studies.

Elena Nikolova and Maria Stoyanova, majoring in “Bulgarian philology”, Anna Tsekova, majoring in “Pedagogy of the Bulgarian language and foreign language /English/”, Christina Angelova, majoring in “English language: translation and communications” graduated with distinction. Among the honorees who received a plaque were Emily Filipova, Maria Napoleonova, Vladan Novkov, Valentina Misheva, Dimitrina Zlatkova-Ilieva, Sara Kuneva and Adile Sakali.

During the ceremony, Polina Georgieva and Raya Koeva, students of the “Pedagogy of Bulgarian and Chinese Language” major, were awarded certificates. They will also receive scholarships from the Chinese Embassy.

A musical greeting to the graduates was given by Deyan Georgiev, who played the instrumental “Home” by Joe Satriani and received the well-deserved applause of the audience. Ioana Yugova, a student majoring in “Bulgarian Philology”, who performed the folk song “Two eagles are flying” together with students from the Department of Music, and Nikol Antonova, a student majoring in “Bulgarian Philology” also greeted the graduates and the guests of the celebration. , performing the song “Love on the Brain”.
