Drummer Kiril Dobrev is one of the emblematic figures in the Bulgara ethnic group. For 20 years he has been engaged in composing and sound design for various film, theater and music projects. In 2003, he won the Asker Award for author’s music for the theater play “Divite”. He is the co-author with Vladi Mihailov of the music for the Bulgarian Oscar submission “Sneakers”, which was awarded the Film Academy Award for Original Soundtrack. With his electronic project Fake, he warms up Prodigy at their first concert in Bulgaria, and with Bulgara he also plays with Al di Meola, Billy Cobham, Human Touch, David Garfield, Milcho Leviev. He is a member of the European Film Academy. He is the founder and driving force of the fusion formation “Scurvy Manga Funk” (CMF).

Today, in his capacity as the band leader of the fusion formation “CMF” with Kiril Dobrev, we unravel the musical and stylistic nomadism of the beloved group in anticipation of their Saturday tour in Plovdiv.

– I hasten to immediately inform everyone who does not know the happy news that “Tsinga Manga Funk” will be visiting on April 27 in Plovdiv at Bee-bop Саfe!

-Exactly! Our concert will start tomorrow between 21-21.30. I am very happy that we are in front of this super-cool audience and I hope everything will be perfect!

– It can’t be otherwise, since we have the best audience in the world and one of the most global groups!

– Well, you are a well-educated city, a city with traditions, so there is no way the audience is not of that type! Your denim is absolutely steeped in culture and there’s no way it could be…

-What new will CMF present to the Plovdiv audience?

– Part of the concert is the promotion of the new clip and the new song, the author of the text and arrangement of which is Angel Demirev. The song is called “So Te Kerav, Baby?”, which translated into Bulgarian means “What should I do, baby?”. I’m so crazy about you that I don’t know what to do. The song is very energetic, very lively, with a summer flavor! We decided precisely in this period of time to present it, we shot a video for it and tomorrow we will show it to the audience in Plovdiv…
