The Russian president will be the main character in the film “Putin” by the Polish director Patrick Vega, also known by the creative pseudonym – Besalel. The image of Vladimir Putin was generated by artificial intelligence (Ai). The director himself developed his own AI technology to create the film version of Putin.
“Putin’s invitation to the studio for 20,000 frames was not an option, and the archival material available online did not allow the training of a high-resolution deepfake model suitable for cinematic use. As a result, after almost two years of development, we created our innovative AI-powered technology that allows us to create the character without relying on a real human model”he explained to Britain’s The Guardian.
Originally, the film was titled “The Vor in Law” (a term used for elite organized crime figures). In it, the story of the head of state will be supported by footage shot by Ukrainian directors during the Russian invasion.
“Putin” is not just a movie. It is a response to a global quest to understand the motives and actions of one of the most controversial figures in modern politics. The mission of my production is to provide viewers with a ‘user’s guide’ to Putin aimed at alleviating the fear and uncertainty that dominates the world today.”explained the director of the production.
The first trailer of the film is now a fact. It includes footage of Putin wearing a soiled diaper. The head of state of Russia is shown not only in a humiliating perspective – he is seen practicing martial arts and fighting with Boris Yeltsin.
First announced in May 2022, Putin is the English-language debut of Polish director Beszalel, who has been responsible for a string of domestic box office hits. His films are traditionally gory and feature gruesome violence. Among them are “Pitbull”, “Mafia women” and “Botox”.
The world premiere of his new title was announced for September 26 this year. Polish studio AIO described the film as “personal and close to the Kremlin leader’s story”.
According to the film studio’s statement, it will be released in 35 countries.
