Rock group James topped the UK album chart with Yummy, the official company that monitors sales and compiles the charts announced on its website.

For the first time, the band, which was formed in the early 1980s, stood at the top of the ranking. Yummy is James’ 18th album since Tim Booth took over as frontman in 1998.

“We really appreciate it. We want to thank our amazing audience who have been with us for 42 years. Thank you so much for coming out and buying Yummy… and long may it continue,” the James musicians were quoted as saying from BTA.

Number two in the UK album chart goes to Beyoncé and Cowboy Carter. In her new production, which is on the market since March 29, the singer bets on country music.

Dire Straits guitarist and vocalist Mark Knopfler is third with his solo album One Deep River. This is his ninth solo production, with which he managed to enter the top 10 of the British chart.

In the top five is the American group Linkin Park with a compilation of hits entitled Papercuts (Singles Collection 2000-2023). For the first time in seven years, the band climbed into the top 5 of the chart.

British rockers Chris Barras Band are fifth with Halo Effect – their first production to reach such a high position in the ranking.

Hozier topped the UK singles chart with his hit Too Sweet. Benson Boone is at number two on the chart with Beautiful Things. The third position goes to Beyoncé with her country hit Texas Hold’Em, included on the album Cowboy Carter.
