Taylor Swift is on this planet to make history, and her march to the pantheon of immortal musicians marked another uncompromising victory.

Swift’s new album, The Tortured Poets Department (TTPD), has become the most streamed Spotify album in the platform’s history. TTPD’s playlist has amassed 300 million streams within a day.

For comparison, the old record on Spotify was 200 million streams in a day, which belonged to K-pop group Blackpink.

Adding to the colossal success for the album, Spotify announced that the first single from The Tortured Poets Department – Fortnight, has climbed to number one on the most streamed songs chart.

Taylor Swift and Post Malone’s collaboration has dethroned the most played song on Spotify to date – Adele’s Easy On Me, released in 2021.

The Tortured Poets Department debuted on the Spotify platform on April 19 as a 31-track double album. TTPD’s main playlist consists of 16 tracks, with Taylor adding an anthology of 15 more tracks.

A day after the premiere of the album, the artist also released a video for her joint single with Post Malone – Fortnight, in which Ethan Hawke and Josh Charles appear.

The actors participated in the cult film “The Society of Dead Poets”, whose title and message are similar to The Tortured Poets Department (“The Society of Tortured Poets”).

To date, Fortnight has been viewed just over 27 million times on YouTube.

If the sheer numbers surrounding Swift’s latest musical conquests don’t impress you, keep in mind that the singer orchestrated her album release and Fortnight filming while touring the world on the biggest tour of her career, The Eras Tour.

At the same time, she also released a movie featuring the best of her concerts, which ended its theatrical run with more than $261 million at the global box office.

Meanwhile, Swift made Forbes magazine’s list of billionaires, and earlier this year she won her 13th Grammy for her Midnights album.

So, drawing a line across her successes, it’s hard to deny that Taylor Swift is the biggest music icon of our time.
