The co-chairman of “We continue the change” Asen Vassilev refuted with facts the statement of the former Deputy Prime Minister Atanas Pekanov that there is no project for a city railway in Plovdiv in PVU. Asen Vasilev stated: “I am amazed that Atanas Pekanov, who has twice been the minister responsible for the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RSP), has not bothered to read it. Otherwise, he would have seen that a project for a city railway in Plovdiv, which will be financed under the PVU, is here:

In order to improve the rail transport service of the largest cities of Bulgaria – among them Sofia and Plovdiv, it is planned to organize the movement of regular suburban trains (S-bahn type) in their suburban areas.”
Stage 184 and 186: “42 EMUs for suburban passenger services with a maximum speed of 160 km/h equipped with ERTMS on-board equipment — 7 double-deck EMUs with a minimum seating capacity of 300 seats and 35 single-deck EMUs with a minimum capacity of 200 seats’
