Acting Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev will not go to the presidency today for a new meeting with the head of state Rumen Radev.

Instead, the Prime Minister will send a written proposal to the President to release the Minister of Foreign Affairs Stefan Dimitrov. And Dimitar Glavchev should be appointed to the post.

This was learned by “24 Hours” from unofficial sources. A little later, the news was confirmed with an official announcement from the Council of Ministers.

“Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev proposes a change in the composition of the official cabinet. According to the proposal sent to President Rumen Radev, Stefan Dimitrov should be released from the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs and the post should be taken over by Prime Minister Glavchev,” reads the announcement from the government press service.

On Monday, a new conversation between Rumen Radev and Dimitar Glavchev had to be held in order to resolve the blockade with the Minister of Foreign Affairs Stefan Dimitrov, who was not wanted by the Prime Minister.

Glavchev’s initial proposal was for Dimitrov to be replaced by GERB Deputy Chairman Daniel Mitov. After Rumen Radev opposed this candidacy, Mitov withdrew from the nomination. This happened after Glavchev spoke with Rumen Radev on Friday and both of them gave themselves a little more time to replace the minister of foreign affairs.

That Prime Minister Glavchev wants to head the Foreign Ministry was announced by himself on Saturday. He informed Radev of his wish on Friday evening. The reaction of the head of state was that Glavchev should think very seriously about whether to take on the two positions – acting prime minister and acting minister of foreign affairs. Then Radev gave Glavchev until today, promising to sign his final proposal.
