The unit was created by the Deputy Chairman of the State Duma for Defense Affairs Dmitry Sablin. It is primarily engaged in drone operations and is usually deployed far from the front lines in Ukraine.
The unit has been operating since October 2022 and includes at least 10 members of the United Russia party, as well as the sons of Kremlin officials. Those who have signed up are reportedly guaranteed security.
