Meglena Plugchieva resigned as an adviser to the caretaker prime minister Dimitar Glavchev. Plugchieva performed the role of foreign policy advisor to the caretaker prime minister.

In her only interview as Glavchev’s adviser, Plugchieva announced that she had been offered ministerial posts, which she refused.

Dimitar Glavchev is placed in an extremely difficult situation and needs people who have managerial, political and diplomatic experience,” Meglena Plugchieva said.

Regarding the position of foreign minister, she commented that, in her opinion, there is an exceptional one good career diplomats.

“It is about an official government, which will include more experts, not politically colored ones. I have been ambassador three times – to Germany, Switzerland and Liechtenstein and to Montenegro, but I have always been a political quota of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. I respect the principles , it is not right for a person like me to take the position of foreign minister in a caretaker government,” Meglena Plugchieva also said.
