The Sofia District Court is hearing the case of the pop folk singer Denislava Sashova – Diona for driving after using a narcotic substance.
Diona stood trial in striped suit.
Singer Diona was arrested for driving with a positive test for cocaine
The Sofia District Prosecutor’s Office submitted the indictment to the court against Diona on April 9.
The singer is accused of that on January 24 this year, around 04.00 am drove a Porsche car” on “Daskal Stoyan Popandreev” Street in Sofia, when it was stopped for a police check.
The officers gave her a Drug Test 5000 which reported a positive result. Diona was then escorted to a hospital where she gave samples for testing. The results of the chemical-toxicological examination showed that she is driving after using cocaine.
Prosecutor’s Office: There are traces of antipyretic drugs in Diona’s blood
The singer herself initially stated that she did not use drugs, but was sick and took medicine to lower the temperature.
The prescribed punishment in the Criminal Code is “imprisonment” from one to three years and a fine from BGN 500 to BGN 1,500.
