Director Mariana Evstatieva-Biolcheva died tonight. Her husband Prof. Boyan Biolchev announced her death.

The funeral will take place on Saturday in the “St. Sedmochiselnitsi” church at 1:30 p.m.

Mariana Evstatieva-Biolcheva studied film and television directing at the Film School in Lodz, Poland.

Debut in documentary cinema. Even with his first films, he showed an interest in the world of children, which he then carried over to feature films. Her cycle of educational films “We Love the Cinema” (1968) is a kind of study of how children perceive the cinema. He made his feature film debut with “The Tiger” (1973) based on a script by Vasil Akiov, followed by “Moments in a Matchbox” (1979) with a Silver Award from Moscow International Film Festival ’79 and “Golden Lace” from International Film Festival – Avelino, Italy ’81.

Her filmography is full of love and recognition: “Theft in Yellow” (1981), based on Pavel Vezhinov’s story “Incident on the Quiet Street”, with “Silver Lacheno” at the International Film Festival Avelino’83, Italy and the Audience Award of the 14th festival in Gijón, Spain’81; “The Devil’s Weapon” (1982), scripted by Boyan Biolchev, with “Silver Lace” in Avellino, Italy ’83, “Up on the Cherry” (1984), “Looking for a Husband for Mom” ​​(1985) with a Silver Medal from ICF Moscow’85 and an award from ICF Alanson’87, France, “Amigo Ernesto” (1986), “The Foreigner Nephew” (1989) based on the tale “The Young Englishman” by Wilhelm Hauf, writes BNT.
