The former football player and coach of Levski Emil Velev made a comment to “Match Telegraph” on the occasion of the upcoming derby between CSKA and Levski, which is on Saturday, April 27, at 4:15 p.m. at the Vasil Levski National Stadium.

He stated that “Levski should want the victory much more than CSKA.”

Mr. Velev, what are your expectations for the match with CSKA?

– Make it a good derby. It’s great that the fans will be in the stadium again. For their part, the police must take seriously the task of not allowing such simple things as we saw in the last match between Levski and CSKA. That’s their job, to guard the game.

I.e. Are you a fan of having fans in the stands?

– Naturally, football is for the fans. The atmosphere is different when there is an audience. It was unique in the previous match. Both the Levski crowd and the CSKA crowd did great things, shutting out the rockets that were being thrown. The police must take measures for this. You can’t do such an outrage. If it’s in Italy or England, I don’t know what will happen…

It can be seen that pyrotechnics are often brought in days before the game…

– Let the police come three days before and lie in wait. That’s their job and that’s what they’re paid for.

In your opinion, will the loss from the previous game weigh on Levski?

– No, every derby is for itself – colorful, as it should be. You never know what the end result will be. Yes, now both teams are a little shaken, but CSKA is in a more enviable position, fighting for second place. The first is clear where it will go. Levski must want the victory much more than CSKA.
