Xi Jinping warned Blinken: Stop being duplicitous

Chinese President Xi Jinping told visiting US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken on Friday that America must stop “saying one thing and doing another”urging Washington not to treat Beijing as an enemy, Reuters quoted him as saying.

“Our two sides … must be true to their word,” Xi said, according to China’s state broadcaster CCTV. “We should help each other flourish, not harm each other.”

Xi, who is the American president, Joe Biden has repeatedly called “dictator”, added: “Although there has been communication in some areas, with some positive progress, there are still many questions for resolution and there is room for further improvement.”

China is concerned about recent US efforts to strengthen alliances with Japan and the Philippines in the South and East China Seas, the Taiwan military package, and technological restrictions on Chinese access to advanced semiconductors.

Blinken, speaking during the another meeting with China’s top diplomat Wang Yi, said that The US seeks to “manage competition responsibly”.
