Evtim Miloshev: We expect an increase in tourism in Bulgaria this summer
As a problem, the minister also pointed out water supply in the Dobrich region. He specified that the branch also raised the issue of the implementation of the regulation on water rescue, which came into force at the beginning of April. The new requirements find the sector unprepared, explained Miloshev. According to him, requests this summer to work according to the old rules lead to a legal case and an urgent interdepartmental meeting will be held to seek a solution. Miloshev also committed to a conversation between the ministries on the problems of wild camping and its control. The industry raises the topic of introducing a tourist police, but this requires a thorough analysis and the development of a comprehensive concept, the minister explained, but recalled that the major tourist countries have such an authority.
As a problem, Miloshev also pointed out the status of the Durankulak border crossing, which becomes an important portal for guests from Romania. The capacity of the border crossing, especially in the active season, is not particularly large and this creates tension, argued the minister.
Regarding the personnel problem, he commented that with the changes in the law on foreigners in our country the sector will be eased. He pointed out that the 90-day visa will now be able to be renewed on the territory of Bulgaria, without the worker having to return to the country where it was issued. In addition, a mechanism is being introduced to extend the stay of employed foreigners. There are also changes for the D visa, which is valid for 9 months, Miloshev added. According to him, reliefs are being introduced in the documents that are submitted for its issuance, and it is possible to continue it after its expiration.
I expect steady and good season, predicted the minister. According to him, the growth of vacationers in our country will probably be within 5 to 10 percent. Finally, he appeals to the Bulgarian media to submit their information with the awareness that tourism is an extremely sensitive sector, as foreign tourists are strongly influenced by the publications.
