CSKA has already chosen the place to which the main part of the club’s children’s and youth school will move after some time. It is about the new sports complex, which is located in the immediate vicinity of the military academy “G.S. Rakovski” in the center of Sofia, writes “Tema Sport”.
Currently, the sports center has 3 indoor football fields, 3 outdoor fields, a volleyball and basketball hall and 6 outdoor tennis courts. The base is currently used for training by Boyko Velichkov’s FC Olympia and ABV football schools, CSKA volleyball and Levski basketball juniors, and others. However, more improvements are yet to be made there before it becomes the home of CSKA’s young footballers.
Already at the end of last month, it became clear that the club has embarked on the implementation of another serious infrastructure project in addition to the already started reconstruction of the “Bulgarian Army” stadium. The “Reds” want to have a training base in Sofia, which will be used for the needs of the children’s and youth school and which will be a much more modern version of the “Red Flag” complex, which was destroyed in 2010 for the construction of the “Arena Sofia” hall. “.
CSKA plans to use several pitches of normal size and artificial surface, as well as a dormitory for the children who are not from Sofia. Currently, many of them live in a hotel in the capital and have to travel several hours every day for school and training.
Until now, most of the sets of the CSKA school trained on the pitches in front of sector “A” of the “Bulgarian Army” stadium. However, for a few weeks, they will remain in history, and when the reconstruction of the facility is completed, they will become part of the park environment in Borisova Garden. That is why the “armies” have settled on the option with the complex next to the Military Academy for the future of young football players.
