Jose Mourinho has outlined what he wants from his next coaching job as he awaits offers.
The enigmatic Portuguese has been without a club since being released by Roma in January.
Since then, his name has been constantly linked with various teams around the world, but the Special One is convinced that he is still too early for an exotic like Saudi Arabia and still has a lot to give to European football.
In the English Premier League, Jose went through Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham and the most powerful league in the world is always an option for him. The specialist explained to The Telegraph what his main request would be:
“The only thing I want is for the goals and objectives to be established by everyone in an honest way,” he said. “I can’t go to a club where, because of my history, the goal will be to win the title. No. The only thing I want things to be fair, do you think if I was at a big Premier League club and we were sixth, seventh or eighth in the table I would still be in work?
What I’m saying is that people should look at me the way they look at everyone else. It is important for me what are the goals of a club and whether I can say that I am ready to fight for them. I don’t want it to be totally realistic, but at least semi-realistic. Because when I went to Roma, nobody dreamed of European finals, and we did it. It is not possible for me to go to a club that is almost relegated and the aim is to win the Champions League. It’s nice, but it’s not fair.”
