Tennis legend Novak Djokovic and his wife Jelena Ristic walked the red carpet ahead of the Laureus World Sports Academy awards. In Madrid, the two again showed class and style, approaching the big Hollywood stars used to parade at such big events.
The Serbian tennis player donned a black tuxedo with satin lapels, a matching bow tie and shiny patent leather shoes. Jelena Djokovic decided to bet on the classics – a strapless black dress with a cut-out skirt and modern pockets. She accessorized the fabulous look with a diamond necklace, earrings and rings.
Jelena is popular for preferring classic etiquette while accompanying her husband to sporting events. Ms. Djokovic is the president of the Novak Foundation, which began operating in 2007 to help educate children in Serbia, specifically making sure they go to kindergarten.
During the ceremony American football player Tom Brady presented Novak with the Sportsman of the Year award. The tennis player received it for the fifth time in his career. He has already been awarded this honor in 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2019. The award is in recognition of his great performance in the past year, when Djokovic won three Grand Slam tournaments – Australia, France and the USA.
Nole won the award for the fifth time and equaled Swiss tennis legend Roger Federer. The Serbian previously won the statuette in 2012, 2015, 2016 and 2019. Last season, he became the champion of three Grand Slam tournaments – the Australian Open, Roland Garros and the US Open.
