CSKA sends off a rather turbulent season. The “Reds” started the campaign as the big competitor of Ludogorets for the title in First Leagueas well as one of the main contenders to win the The Cup of Bulgaria. This was expected, considering that during the last campaign the “armies” were on the verge of dethroning the Razgrad hegemon. Well, it didn’t.
Two coaching changes within one season
However, in this season, the bosses and management of CSKA were ambitious to finally overthrow Ludogorets from the top. However, the “Reds” started the campaign rather hesitantly. For this reason, after only a few rounds played, Sasha Ilyich was dismissed. In his place came Nestor El Maestro. Under the leadership of the Serbian with a British passport, things did not improve, and on the contrary – CSKA has no appearance, is suffering on the field and the results prove it.
A new coaching change was reached before the end of the season and Stamen Belchev, well-known to fans, arrived in El Maestro’s place. The coach took over for the third time the “reds”, who no longer have any chance for the title and hope to save the season by winning the Bulgarian Cup.
However, the task is difficult. In the first semi-final against Botev Plovdiv at the Vasil Levski National Stadium, CSKA looked as if El Maestro was still behind the wheel. Eventually “the army lost with the minimum 0:1but Stamen Belchev bears absolutely no blame for this.
The players have turned CSKA into a mess
The main blame for the weak performance of the team this season lies with the players, the coaching staff Nestor El Maestro, who leads the team through almost the entire campaign, as well as the management. Because the players have turned CSKA into a mess. It may sound exaggerated, even insulting, but it is true. Currently, there is no “military” discipline in the “army” club, and everyone does what they want.
This was excellently seen before the match with Arda, when Fernando Karanga was photographed enjoying himself in the capital’s chalgotheque until the early hours of the day. And the meeting was extremely important for CSKA. The Reds had to win to finish the regular season in the First League in second place and thus guarantee home advantage in the playoffs, at least against Levski, Cherno More and Krumovgrad.

Now many will say that Karanga he is injured, he was out of the group for the match with Arda, he is a young man and he wants to have fun, and what not. To some extent, they may be right, but this is not a professional attitude and does not suit a club with the name and ambitions of CSKA.
You can’t prepare for one of your most important games of the season, and your only pure striker, I stress the only one, is blaring around discos at midnight. No matter if he is injured, healthy, he will play or watch from the bench. There is a time for fun, and it is not in the final and heaviest part of the season.
There are other cases of promiscuous behavior
However, this is not the first time during the campaign that a CSKA player has been involved. We all remember the accusations of the Tartor of Sector “G” Ivan Velchev towards the big star of the team Tobias Heinz. Kyustendiletsa revealed that the Norwegian quite often visits gambling halls at night and stumbles on the cup. Subsequently, photos of Heinz’s adventures around the capital’s casinos also appeared on the Internet.
We also remember the scandals between Ivan Turitsov and CSKA fans at the beginning of this season, when the Bulgarian national was even dismissed as the captain of the team. At a later stage of the campaign, the backup goalkeeper of the “Reds” Dimitar Evtimov got into a heated argument with supporters after another poor game and even took the liberty of swearing at them.
Responsible factors must introduce discipline
These are just some of the offshoots of CSKA’s main players this season. There are probably many more, but they have not been made public. That’s why the coach Stamen Belchev, and the management must take measures. The players must be very carefully explained what is required of them as footballers for this club, both on and off the pitch. That there are things that they should not do, as they harm the image of CSKA and their own, and this does not bring positives to anyone.
Discipline should also be in place that requires personal accountability and if not followed there should be sanctions and punishments. Only in this way CSKA will be able to achieve something in their matches until the end of the season. As we said earlier – the title is now a mirage, but winning the Cup is still on the dice. “Army” can easily eliminate Botev Plovdiv in the rematch of “College”. It won’t be easy, but it’s doable.
CSKA is not a sanatorium
Will this happen – The Cup of Bulgaria is one match away. There, the opponent will most likely be Ludogorets, and it is clear to everyone that the people of Razgrad will not be defeated by a group of spoiled footballers who think that CSKA is a sanatorium and they can do whatever they want. That is why Stamen Belchev and the management must immediately take measures.
Otherwise, the team will send another zero season, and in the next campaign, talk like: “We are chasing the title”, “We want to win a double” or “We will knock Ludogorets from the top” will simply not go ahead of anyone. Neither in front of the fans, nor in front of the unbridled command called the team, which will continue to do as it pleases.
