Adrian Newey is 65 years old. For several years, he has cut his work for Formula 1 in half and does not go to the base of Red Bull every day. The technical director of the team, Pierre Vache, takes care of the daily tasks and the progress of the projects.

Newey is said to be unhappy with the power struggle at Red Bull Racing. The Brit also does not want to be completely displaced from the RB17 hypercar project. The experienced engineer still works almost entirely in F1. Although Newey is no longer 100% designing the car on his favorite drawing board, he is still the genius behind the concept of the Austrian racing team’s seven championship cars. Thanks to them, Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen won a total of seven world titles. Their number is expected to be increased at the end of this year.

Last year, Newey signed a new three-year contract with Red Bull. Thus, he must remain in Milton Keynes until the end of 2025. However, there have been rumors of fat offers for the Briton from Aston Martin and Ferrari. The two teams are willing to do anything to convince the experienced engineer to join them. Just recently, Newey was said to have been spotted at Bologna airport, coinciding with the Ferrari speculation.

It is not yet clear when Newey will be able to leave Red Bull. Officially, his contract is until the end of next year. Then the long-awaited Red Bull hypercar should appear.
