UFC flyweight Jeff Molina has come out as gay after a video of him sexually satisfying another man went public. Thus, the American became the first UFC fighter in history to declare himself a member of the LGBT community.
“This is not the way I wanted everyone to know, I wanted to announce when I felt ready. All my life I dated girls and suppressed the feelings I first experienced in high school and college as part of the wrestling team, later in MMA,” Molina wrote.
“I hope whoever released this video is happy with what they did. I know who I am and what I am, even though there are still people who hate me and send me different messages,” reads part of Molina’s message.
Molina supported the LGBT community during his fight last year, for which he was criticized by the MMA community. He has 11 wins and two losses in his UFC career. He is currently suspended due to suspicion of being involved in a betting scandal.
