Cow’s cheese, chicken meat and flour also become cheaper

For another week, the State Commission on Commodity Exchanges and Auctions reports a drop in the prices of most basic foodstuffs, fruits and vegetables on the exchanges in the country.

The market price index, which reflects the movement of wholesale food prices in our country, decreased by 1.11 percent to 2.235 points during the week.

Imported cucumbers became cheaper by 11.8 percent to BGN 2.10 per kilogram, while greenhouse cucumbers fell by 4.3 percent to BGN 2.90 per kilogram. The price of tomatoes (import) is also lower – by 2.9 percent to BGN 2.97 per kilogram. Potatoes continue to rise in price, this time by 2.9 percent and are traded at BGN 1.44 per kilogram.

Carrots are also going up and are priced at BGN 1.20 per kilogram, which is 5.3 percent more than last week. Ripe onions (import) rose in price by 3.4 percent to BGN 1.50 per kilogram, and cabbage by 1.6 percent to BGN 1.28 per kilogram.

The price of imported apples is lower by 2.2 percent to BGN 1.74 per kilogram, and lemons by 1 percent to BGN 2.05 per kilogram. Bananas rose in price by 3.6 percent to BGN 2.86 per kilogram, oranges by 4.2 percent to BGN 1.99/kg, and strawberries (imported) by 2.3 percent to BGN 4.83 per kilo.

The price of cow’s cheese fell by 0.4 percent to BGN 10.60 per kilogram, and of “Vitosha” cheese – by 0.1 percent to BGN 16.60 per kilogram. Yogurt (3 and over 3 percent fat content) has increased in price by 2.6 percent and is bought at BGN 1.18 for a bucket of 400 grams, and fresh milk (3 percent fat content) – by 1.3 percent to 2 .27 BGN per liter.

Chicken meat became cheaper by 0.6 percent and is available at BGN 6.44 per kilogram, and the price of eggs (size M) jumped by 2.9 percent and they are bought at BGN 0.36 per piece wholesale in End of the week.

Rice maintains its price of BGN 3.33 per kilogram, and lentils increase in price by 1 percent to BGN 4.24 per kilogram. The price of ripe beans jumped by 0.2 percent to BGN 4.30 per kilogram.

Sugar fell by 3.5 percent and was traded at BGN 1.91 per kilogram, and oil by 0.4 percent to BGN 2.72 per liter. The price of type 500 flour also went down by 3 percent to BGN 1.29 per kilogram, while that of cow butter (125 gram package) rose by 1.5 percent to BGN 2.65 per piece.
