Former American President Donald Trump is trailing current American leader Joe Biden in the level of support from American citizens in conditions where voters can choose other contenders for the presidency. This is revealed by the results of a published sociological survey conducted on behalf of the television company NBC.

Voters were asked who they preferred when choosing between Democrat Biden, Republican Trump, independents Robert Kennedy Jr. and Cornel West, and the Green Party’s Jill Stein. Thirty-seven percent of those polled supported Trump, and 39% supported Biden. 6% said they could not choose. The remaining 13% of the vote was split between Kennedy Jr., West and Stein.

But when respondents were asked to choose between Trump and Biden alone, the former president received 46 percent of the vote, while the incumbent received 44 percent. Another 10% of survey participants said they were undecided.

The statistical error of the survey results is 3.1 p. p. The survey was conducted on April 12-16. 1 thousand people participated in it.

The US presidential election will be held on November 5. Trump has already collected the necessary number of delegate votes to be nominated as the candidate of the Republican Party for the post of President of the United States.

Biden, who is running for a second term, has secured the support of a sufficient number of Democratic delegates. Thus, the fight will predictably develop between the same candidates as four years ago, when Biden defeated Trump, seeking re-election to the highest office of the state. /BGNES
