The Iraqi military movement Kataib Hezbollah announced that the Iraqi armed groups have decided to resume their attacks against United States forces in the country, Al Jazeera reported.

The group said the decision was influenced by the lack of progress on the withdrawal of US troops following Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al Sudani’s visit to the US.

“What happened a moment ago is the beginning,” the group said, apparently referring to an earlier attack against an American military base near the northeastern Syrian city of al-Hasakah.

The United States military base, located near the northeastern Syrian city of al-Hasakah, is believed to have was unharmed by the missile attack carried out by Iraq on Sunday.

An unnamed Pentagon official, however, assured that no American servicemen were killed or injured by the “more than five” missiles that hit near the base.

He added that it was not yet clear whether the base was the intended target.
