The Minister of Culture Nayden Todorov today honored Prof. Plamen Djurov with a plaque “Contribution to the development of culture”. The official ceremony at the Ministry of Culture was attended by Deputy Ministers Viktor Stoyanov and Amelia Gesheva, the head of the minister’s office Persa-Anna Nakova, directors of directorates in the cultural institution.

Minister Nayden Todorov pointed out that without Prof. Plamen Djurov, Bulgarian musical culture would not have reached the heights it is at now. During the presentation of the prestigious award, which is awarded to Prof. Djurov for his overall outstanding contribution to Bulgarian musical culture – its development and popularization around the world, Minister Todorov also pointed out that the award is not only a sign of deep gratitude to Prof. Djurov, but also hope and encouragement that he continues to give direction to his colleagues and the younger generations, as his experience in both music and administration is invaluable.

For his part, Prof. Djurov thanked Minister Nayden Todorov for his attention and shared that it will motivate and inspire him to continue working for the benefit of Bulgarian musical culture.

On April 21, Sunday, Prof. Plamen Djurov also celebrated his 75th anniversary. On this occasion, Minister Todorov presented him with a special congratulatory address.
