From today in Greece are lowering the prices of Easter goods. Reductions affect children’s toys and clothes, as well as clothes.
The Ministry of Development reached an agreement with producers and sellers of Easter goods to reduce prices, reports BNT.
The emphasis is on the gifts for the children included with the “godfather’s basket”. Children’s toys, school supplies, children’s clothes and Easter sweets will be sold at discounted prices so that children can receive the traditional gifts from the godfather.
Big price differences for Easter
It also takes effect from tomorrow the reduction of groceries for the Easter table. Development Minister Skrekas said that with this price regulation, lamb meat could become cheaper by up to 10 euros per kilogram, while it is currently priced at up to 15 euros.
Traders of fish delicacies, which are in high demand during the fasting period, have increased prices significantly. The consumer union reports that fruits and vegetables are extremely expensive.

At the same time, financial teams check the retail stores for the quality and prices of the goods. In a week, several retail chains have been fined 1.5 million euros for fictitious discounts and very high prices of essential goods, announced Minister Skrekas.
