They revealed the prices of lamb meat for Easter.
Compared to last year, there will not and should not be an increase in the price of lamb meat. Prices vary depending on whether the lamb is purchased from the farm or from a chain store. This was noted by the co-chairman of the National Sheep and Goat Breeding Association, Simeon Karakolev, to BNR-Radio Sofia.
“If from the farm the prices are around BGN 10 per kilogram of live weight, in the store network the price is BGN 26, 28 to 30 per kilogram of live weight, depending on the type of cut.”
According to Karakolev, in recent years there has been an increased interest in shopping at farms, which is reasonable, because of the prices, but also because of the quality. And this applies to both lamb and dairy products – cheese and yellow cheese.

The late Easter suggests heavier lambs, which are less sought after and, accordingly, the wholesale purchase price is lower, Karakolev also said.
He recalled last year’s case with the import of lamb from North Macedonia, which had a marking that misled the consumer that it was of Bulgarian production. And he noted that the law should be even stricter towards the perpetrators of such manipulations.
