With half the average price, the Metropolitan Municipality is looking for someone to burn its waste within a year. The problems of the Metropolitan Municipality with finding a solution for the utilization of fuel from waste in the garbage plant at the “Sadinata” site in Sofia are not from yesterday.
The order announced by her is for a total of 195 thousand tons of waste with an estimated value of BGN 22,620,000 without VAT, which means an average marginal price of BGN 116 per ton. The order for the acceptance and recovery of combustible waste (RDF – modified fuels derived from waste), divided into eight separate items, each of which covers four fractions. For comparison, last year’s procedure was for incineration of a total of 98 thousand tons of flammable waste worth BGN 26,490,000, which makes an average of BGN 270 per ton. The order was then divided into five items, but bids were submitted for only three of them – one for each of the three. Contracts were concluded for the incineration of up to 73 thousand tons of waste at a total plant capacity of up to 180,000 tons per year. Holsim Bulgaria JSC concluded a contract for 15,000 tons for BGN 1.5 million excluding VAT.
The company “Industrial raw materials” EOOD, with actual owner Ivan Doichinov, signed two contracts with the Municipality of Sofia at that time. One is for the recovery of 40,000 tons of waste for BGN 13.2 million, and the other for 18,000 tons for BGN 5.9 million. The deadline for accepting offers for the new order is May 16. They will open one day later. We have yet to find out if there will be people willing to fulfill it.
