CSKA recorded a win in their final game before the men’s NBL playoffs. At home, the team prevailed over Black Sea Ticha with 105:99 after Georgi Boyanov’s triple-double in a match that did not matter for the ranking of both teams. The hosts led almost throughout but came close to conceding a late reversal.

Morris Creek missed the second game in a row for the Varna team, and this time Averil Ugba was also absent.

The Reds finish this phase of the championship in fifth place with a record of 15 wins and 17 losses, while their opponents are sixth with 11-20 and still without success under their new coach Georgi Davidov. In the quarterfinals, CSKA will face Balkan, and the first match will be in Botevgrad. The Black Sea will start with the visit of Spartak to Pleven.

It only took three minutes for the home team to take a double-digit lead at 13:2, forcing an early layup by Georgi Davidov. The defense of the “sailors” was not able to protect Vasil Bachev, who scored 15 points in the first part alone, but gradually they played better in attack and at the end of it they reduced it to 24:27. The high performance was maintained in the second period, as CSKA rarely conceded under the basket, and in combination with the seven three-pointers, they led at the break with 56:44.

Rosen Barchovski’s basketball players maintained their lead throughout the third quarter, after which they pulled away at 75:64 in their favor.

The guests shortened the distance significantly on several occasions, and 30 seconds before the end they took advantage of an opponent’s mistake and reduced it to only 3. The game was interrupted by penalty kicks from both sides, but CSKA kept their lead until the end. In the last seconds, Ivan Spirov left for five fouls after receiving an unsportsmanlike one, and Viktor Gergov did not finish the match either.

Georgi Boyanov finished the game with 25 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists. Alexander Radukic scored 20 points, and Vasil Bachev scored 19.

For the opponent, Curtis Jones had 22 points and 7 rebounds. Ivan Spirov has 17 points, and Marin Marinov has 15.
