Washington’s military aid to Taiwan is direct interference in Beijing’s internal affairs and will not bring greater security to the region. This was said by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, on the air of the TV channel Russia-24.
“Military aid to Taiwan is a direct interference in China’s internal affairs. Will this bring greater stability to the region that the United States runs through as if it were its home, which of course causes a large number of crisis phenomena. it will not bring greater security. The trends will be just the opposite,” she said.
On April 20, the US House of Representatives approved bills to provide military aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan, to confiscate frozen Russian assets for transfer to Kiev, and to introduce additional sanctions against China. The volume of the package was 95 billion dollars. It includes, in particular, $60 billion for Ukraine, $26 billion for Israel, as well as funds to provide humanitarian aid to civilians in conflict zones, including the Gaza Strip. The bills must now be approved by the US Senate, which will begin consideration on April 23. If passed, they will be sent to US President Joe Biden for signature. The American leader has already promised to sign this package of bills.
