An earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale struck eastern Taiwan’s Hualien county today, the island’s meteorological administration said, but there were no immediate reports of damage.

The earthquake shook buildings in the capital, Taipei. It was at a depth of 5.5 km, reports BNT.

Earlier today, Hualien County was rocked by another quake that measured 5.5, according to the island’s weather office, but there were no reports of casualties or damage.

Taiwan was hit by hundreds of aftershocks after the massive 7.2 magnitude earthquake that rocked Hualien earlier this month.
