Vyara Todeva with a comment about the threats against her and the dismantling of the Monument to the Soviet Army – Society

I still go with security, but hopefully soon it won’t be necessary. There were many threats, so I don’t know if the authors are known, since the case is being investigated by the Ministry of the Interior. I don’t feel completely safe at this stage, but I hope that when the problem is solved, things will calm down.

This was explained in the program “This Morning”, the regional governor of Sofia, Vyara Todeva. Her security was assigned because of the events surrounding the dismantling of the Monument to the Soviet Army in the Prince’s Garden. During the protests in defense of the monument, Todeva received numerous threats.

We remind you that yesterday the plates with the inscription of the Soviet monument in Sofia were removed. How does the dismantling proceed?

According to her, the Metropolitan Municipality has a plan and preparatory actions are underway to pour a slab to protect the monument from atmospheric conditions.

“Next is a competition that will be announced by the Metropolitan Municipality to decide what will be in the Prince’s Garden,” she explained.

According to her claims, the monument has many compromised plates.

“For now, the monument will not be repaired until its fate is decided,” Todeva said.

She confirmed that the dismantled figures are still in the village of Lozen, where they await restoration. “We are preparing to start the public procurement for their restoration,” she added.
