Hundreds of relatives and friends sent Anna-Maria Milcheva and Yavor Stoyanov, SafeNews recalls.

The young people lost their lives in the early hours of May 8 when they were run over and hit on a pedestrian path by Adrian Antonov on Slivnitsa Blvd.

The crowd filled the plaza in front of the ritual hall and from there proceeded to the church of the cemetery for the funeral. The people were mostly young.

Everyone was speechless, not uttering a word. It was pouring rain all the time. The two coffins were brought in a common hearse, and likewise taken to the church.

Lawyer Dimitar Markovski recalled that the accused plays in a church choir and has no criminal record. Also, house arrest would serve the ends of justice. The prosecutor disagreed and requested that the remand be confirmed.

Adrian again said he was sorry and expressed his condolences to the families of those who died.

And according to judge Veselin Pengezvo, Adrian’s actions were “arrogance bordering on recklessness.”
