Radan Kanev to NOVINI.BG: And we croaked from the couch, but we also showed that we have a face – Elections

In the European Parliament (EP), the individual has a very big role, MEP Radan Kanev told NOVINI.BG.

He explained why Bulgarians should vote on June 9. Europe, he said, is part of every aspect of our lives. European legislation is particularly strong in the economy, industry, energy, etc. “Here, the powers of the European institutions are very significant”, he reminded and explained how for many years our country was characterized by a policy of agreeing with the German position. “It was clearly wrong,” he said. “And we croaked from the corner, which is perhaps OK for inside the country, but not for Europe”, declared Kanev and added: “Recently, however, we showed that Bulgaria can also have a face in Europe”.

Radan Kanev gave several examples of what he has done and how the individual has a significant role in the European Parliament.

According to him, however, neither the media nor the MEPs have yet managed to fully explain what is happening in the EP and what is the role of Bulgaria in Europe. Kanev believes that much more communication is needed. “Things are not good with the governments that change in Bulgaria every 6 or 9 months” and because of this the MEPs still do not have their backs at the national level.

Regarding the elections in Bulgaria, Kanev stated that our country is in the midst of a political crisis. There are many powerful forces that do not want Bulgaria to have a stable government, he said and explained that the mafia and corruption cannot survive in a competitive environment.

“We have a big fight to fight,” he is emphatic.

In connection with the euro and our country’s entry into the euro zone, Radan Kanev said that our country’s data are good, even optimistic, but he shared that he personally does not have a “rosy” forecast. “We have a lot of work to do in Bulgaria and we will not finish this work on June 9, and we have yet to start on June 10,” he said.

Radan Kanev announced that he will be part of the Eurolist of “Continuing the change – Democratic Bulgaria” and shared that he will fight to be part of the EPP group.

He called on the Bulgarians themselves to find a way out of the crisis in which our country has fallen.
