Rules don’t get in the way of work, they save lives. And the personal example of the employer is very important for the worker. Labor inspectors and companies that monitor workplace safety, trade unionists and social partners gathered around this today in Shumen.

The discussion was welcomed by the regional governor of Shumen, Prof. Dobromir Dobrev, who commented that the event is commendable and the expectations are that it will have a fruitful result.

The meeting in Shumen is part of the campaign “Come home after work! Someone is waiting for you there” of the General Labor Inspectorate with the support of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy.

Unfortunately, occupational accidents with a fatal outcome in our country are increasing, announced inspector No. 1 in the country, Eng. Ekaterina Asenova. We are far from zero occupational trauma.

There is even an increase in occupational accidents in the country. Since the beginning of the year, there have been 37 fatal accidents in the country, one in Shumen. Shumen district is generally doing very well compared to other districts, Eng. Asenova said.

According to the analysis of the General Inspectorate, accidents in construction are the most common, and they are committed either by workers with great experience and arrogance, or by the most inexperienced.

Another case happened last night in Sofia, when a worker was illegally standing under a crane with a huge load.
