The Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Defense of the European Union (EU) said on Monday that they are urgently looking for ways to provide more funds for air defense (air defense) on Ukraine.

The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell also called on EU member states to do everything possible to increase Kyiv’s air defense capabilities.

At the same time, the ministers did not make specific promises about the delivery of new missiles “The Patriot”which Ukraine relies on the most in this area.

The meeting of EU ministers in Luxembourg comes two days after the House of Representatives USA approved a new military aid package for Ukraine worth nearly 61 billion dollar. The ministers said this new US aid should not reassure European countries and they must act.

“We can rejoice for one day, but we must be ready for the battle that lies ahead tomorrow.” That’s why there can be no peace,” the Lithuanian foreign minister told reporters Gabrielius Landsbergis.

However, countries that have US-made Patriot systems have not committed to sending any to Kiev.

In recent weeks, Ukraine has become more active in pushing for such missiles for its air defense systems. Germany was the only country that promised to send.

Other European countries, including Greece, The Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Spain and Sweden, also have Patriot systems. However, their representatives give an evasive answer to the question of whether they will send such missiles to Kiev.

Ukraine highly values the Patriot systems for their ability to shoot down fast-moving ballistic missiles.
