New electronic service of the NHIF – see what it is – Bulgaria

New electronic service allows for Bulgarian citizens, provided in other countries in the European UnionYes check the health insurance you are status in our country. This was reported by the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF).

The service gives access to medical facilitieswho are contractual partners of the Fund, to the patient’s information when providing medical assistance.

To access the reference citizens must be registered in the NHIF system with a certification document drawn up according to the rules for the coordination of social security systems (PSSSS).

The necessary medical assistance is obtained upon presentation of a relevant European or national document. The form must prove that the citizen is registered in the Bulgarian health insurance system as a person insured in another country.

The health fund reminds that in cases of provision of urgent and urgent medical assistance to citizens who are insured outside our country, the provisions of the Bulgarian health insurance legislation are applied.
