Journalist Dimitar Stoyanov from BIRD.BG. pulled a gun on a NRA officer

Journalist Dimitar Stoyanov has been detained for 24 hours, Nova TV reported. Stoyanov threatened a NRA employee with a weapon.

According to bTV, the threatened person is a civil servant, but the television does not specify where he works. The man complained to the police, after which the BIRD.BG reporter was arrested.

According to Bulfoto, he was detained in the Fifth District Department of the Metropolitan Police.

The incident took place around 6:30 p.m. on Monday evening, in the “Hadji Dimitar” district of the capital.

Stoyanov himself published a post on the social network, in which he commented that he was attacked in the back in the store while shopping, and showed a photo showing traces of a flaying on his head.

“Even when you’re shopping meekly, there’s always some jerk to attack you, because you shop at a store he doesn’t like. If you don’t get scared, he’ll run away and then attack you in the back, beat you like an angry woman and explain how he’s going to kill you.” writes Dimitar Stoyanov.

He admits that the scene could also be a provocation. “And you have no idea where it came from. I’m still wondering if it’s a provocation or an idiot”adds the journalist on his Facebook profile.

After the incident, Stoyanov went to “Pirogov” to get a medical certificate for a beating, and that’s when he was taken away by a policewoman, “Bulfoto” reports.

The agency also recalls that the reporter made revelations about the Minister of Internal Affairs, Kalin Stoyanov, and was sued by him.

A few hours later, the Ministry of the Interior specified that Stoyanov was detained for hooliganism.

“In connection with the speculations that have appeared, we specify that the journalist Dimitar Stoyanov has been detained for 24 hours for hooliganism and threatening with a weapon. The detention is after a report was received by the police from a citizen”reported the press center of the Ministry of the Interior.

In 2018, Dimitar Stoyanov received the honor of the Bulgarian Helsinki Committee for journalist of the year, but at that time he was still working at the website “Bivol”.
