The former interior minister got into a sharp clash with representatives of the DPS

PP-DB deputy and former interior minister Boyko Rashkov was supposed to be heard today by the parliamentary committee investigating the corruption practices in the Customs Agency and the possible role of Asen Vasilev in them. However, the meeting proceeded with scandals and insults between him and the people’s representatives from DPS Yordan Tsonev and Hamid Hamid.
The main topic was why those accused of smuggling, Marin and Stefan Dimitrovi (father and son), repeatedly visited Rashkov’s office when he was the interior minister.
Previously in the committee the former Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Petar Todorov was also heard.
Boyko Rashkov explained once again that he met with Martin and Stefan Dimitrovi, because they gave him reports of blackmail and buying votes in the Haskovo area. Rashkov directly accused the DPS of vicious election practices. However, Toshko Yordanov stated that PP-DB also bought votes.
In the end, after his presentation, Boyko Rashkov announced that he had nothing more to say and that he should leave, because this commission acted deliberately, accusing Stanislav Balabanov of ITN, who led its previous meeting, for this.
Balabanov and titular chairman Toshko Yordanov subsequently criticized the behavior of the former interior minister. They accused Rashkov of running away from questions. This was also done by Raya Nazaryan from GERB, as well as Hamid Hamid from DPS.
Toshko Yordanov finally surprisingly stated: “Mr. Rashkov ran away to say, but do you know that they are neighbors with this Stefan Dimitrov? A fence separates them. Their houses are next to each other. He doesn’t know his neighbors and, besides, it’s interesting It was to learn why Zhivko Dimitrov presented to various heads of the ODMVR. These are rhetorical questions that have an answer. This is the problem when you run away from the hearing – that every single uncomfortable question we ask, it becomes an answer in its unpleasant part.
