Billions of dollars in aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan should be easily approved by the US Senate this week, Reuters reported.

The Senate will consider Thursday a four-package aid bill that was approved by the House of Representatives. One provides $61 billion to Ukraine, the second $26 billion to Israel, the third $8.12 billion “to counter Communist China” in the Indo-Pacific region, and the fourth includes a possible ban on the social network TikTok, measures to transfer frozen Russian assets to Ukraine and new sanctions against Iran.

President Joe Biden said he would sign the bill as soon as possible if it were approved by the Senate on Thursday.

The entry into force of the bill will allow military aid to be sent to Ukraine within days. It is eagerly awaited at a time when Ukrainian forces are trying to repel the Russian attempt to break through on the eastern front, Reuters reported, citing analysts, BTA reported.

The agency specifies that it is not clear what effect the financial means to Israel will have on the conflict in Gaza. Israel has already received billions of dollars from the US. The package includes humanitarian aid that supporters hope will help Palestinians in Gaza.
