If he wins a second term in the White House, presidential candidate Donald Trump will defy his political opponents by deporting millions of migrants and imposing new, higher tariffs on US goods.

Commerce

The Republican plans to impose a 10% tariff on all goods imported into the US, which he says will solve the trade deficit issue. Analysts believe this will raise prices for consumers and be a factor in global economic instability. Trump is even preparing to impose higher tariffs on countries that tax American goods.

Specifically, Trump is targeting China and the elimination of Chinese goods in the electronics, steel and pharmaceutical industries during a possible new 4-year term. Its intention is to bar Chinese companies from owning infrastructure in the US in the energy and technology sectors.

Federal bureaucracy

Trump is preparing to lay off employees of the “deep state” who have pursued their own goals indiscriminately. A law would authorize tens of thousands of cuts in the administration to “remove corrupt officials who threaten national security,” thus ridding Trump of his political opponents. The measures are likely to be challenged in court.

Trump envisions a new kind of test for every federal employee developed by his administration. Close supporters of his are also counting on getting posts to push new policies.

Trump will limit the actions of the initiators of public initiatives, which are generally protected by law. It will legitimize an independent authority to “track” US intelligence agencies.

Investigation of opponents

Trump will use federal law enforcement agencies to investigate his political opponents. He intends to appoint an investigative prosecutor for Democrat Joe Biden, though it is not yet clear on what grounds. The Ministry of Justice will investigate district prosecutors on new legal grounds because some are involved in law enforcement outside of constitutional norms.

Energy

Trump has promised to increase U.S. fossil fuel production by easing the permitting process for drilling. It will also encourage the construction of new natural gas pipelines.

Trump plans to withdraw the United States from the Paris climate agreement, which regulates the reduction of greenhouse gases. In return, it will increase nuclear power production.

Trump will roll back Biden rules that allow more sales and incentives for electric cars and hybrids to reduce emissions.

Economy

Trump has also promised to repeal federal anti-jobs laws. It will also keep the 2017 tax cuts he signed into law in his first term. His economic advisers are considering new tax breaks for individuals and corporations. Trump will push for the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates.

Immigration

Trump plans to resume policies from his first term that affected illegal migrants at the border, reversing liberal Biden measures on migrants in order to legalize new restrictions.

Trump will limit access to asylum along the US-Mexico border by taking action to deport migrants en masse. That is expected to trigger legal action by Democrats in Congress.

Abortions

Trump appointed three conservative justices to the US Supreme Court, part of a majority that removed constitutional protections for abortion rights. He would likely continue to appoint federal judges who would uphold abortion restrictions.

According to him, the federal ban on abortion is unnecessary, and the issue should be decided at the state level. He assessed the ban on aborting fetuses after the sixth week of pregnancy as too strict. Any legislation, he said, should provide exceptions for rape, incest and prioritize the health of the mother.

Foreign policy

Trump has criticized U.S. support for Ukraine in defending it from Russian aggression, saying he could stop the war in 24 hours if elected, but without making clear how that would be done.

During a possible mandate, America will rethink “NATO’s purpose and mission.” In a previous interview with Reuters, Trump said that Ukraine must give up its territory in order to reach a peace agreement. He has long opposed the $61 billion aid package that Congress has already approved after Trump said an independent and strong Ukraine was also important to US national security.

At the same time, Trump supports Israel in its fight against Hamas.

Education

Trump will try to get colleges and universities to “protect the American tradition and Western civilization” by eliminating ethnic diversity programs. He will ask the Department of Justice to bring civil cases against schools he believes are engaging in racial discrimination in this way.

Crime

Trump would introduce the death penalty for traffickers and drug dealers. He would also propose allowing looters in retail stores to be killed at the scene of the robbery.

Homeless

Trump will ban “urban homeless encampments” in American cities and require homeless people to undergo treatment, with arrest if they refuse. “Large plots of cheap land” equipped with doctors and psychologists will be provided.
