“There is a tendency in local elections to have a large number of invalid votes cast in the elections for municipal councilors. Therefore, our explanatory campaign will now be aimed at explaining to the voter that when he wishes to vote for a party or coalition, with a paper ballot , he must first vote in the square with the number of the party or coalition for his vote to be valid and if he wishes to mark a preference, only then do it in the circle with the number of the candidate of his choice,” told Euronews Primetime the deputy chairman and spokesperson of the CEC Rositsa Mateva.
“Our campaign will be aimed at making the voter understand that he must first vote in the box with the number of the party or coalition,” announced Mateva.
The Deputy Chairman of the CEC also commented that it is not necessary to purchase additional flash drives for the upcoming elections.
“There is no company that does the maintenance of the machines. There are two companies that have supplied the machines and accordingly support these machines under warranty, as a set of devices. The flash memories are, anyway, to some extent a consumable. The Central Election Commission carried out such a flash check the memories. They have 10,000 cycles of use, so they can continue to be used for a long time. For now, there is no need to buy new flash memories,” Mateva said.
