Re-treatment of the chestnut trees in Targovishte against the leafmining moth pest will be carried out on the night of April 29-30.

The training will be carried out 14 days after the first one, and the aim is to destroy as much as possible the remaining larvae after the first treatment.

The activities will be carried out by a specialized company with which the Municipality has a contract. The preparation used is not dangerous for humans.

Depending on the condition of the trees, a decision will be made during the summer months about subsequent treatments.

We remind you that the leafmining moth is a pest that destroys the foliage of chestnut trees. In recent years, the Municipality of Targovishte has implemented systematic measures to combat it. The trees are treated with a detergent several times a year, and in autumn the fallen chestnut leaves are collected and composted. The aim is to destroy the pupae hibernating in them and thus limit the impact of the pest.
