Measures against the spread of bird flu have been introduced in the Gabrovo region. Due to the complicated epizootic situation, the holding of bird markets and exhibitions is prohibited.
There is no outbreak of bird flu in the Gabrovo region, but the health authorities are taking preventive measures against the spread of the infection.
In addition to the ban on bird markets and exhibitions, owners of industrial farms must clean and disinfect the premises and take samples. For protection, it is necessary to avoid direct contact with bird-contaminated objects and surfaces, health authorities warn, and poultry meat and products should be cooked at a temperature not lower than 70°C.
The targeted measures envisage that the owners of industrial farms notify the Regional Directorate of Food Safety before removing birds from the breeding places.
The prescriptions are to be delivered personally to the owners of poultry farms and hatcheries on the territory of the Gabrovo region.
