Pregnant women will be vaccinated against whooping cough for free. This will become possible after the holidays when the ordinance that will allow this is amended.

They will be able to receive the free vaccines in the regional centers in the country, and the exact addresses of the places where they will be placed will be announced by the RZI.

This was announced by the Acting Minister of Health Galya Kondeva and the Chief State Health Inspector Angel Kunchev.

“The Ministry of Health will provide an opportunity for all pregnant women who are between 27 and 36 weeks of gestation, regardless of whether they are insured or not, to be immunized for free. This will happen at RZI,” explained Kondeva.

We are also ready to make outsourced cabinets. Keep in mind that the number of pregnant women is not that high and we have to see what interest there is, said Kunchev.

500 are the already registered cases in our country. Over 90% of them are in children. A few days ago, the chief state health inspector Assoc. Angel Kunchev stated that by the end of the week he will request that an epidemic of whooping cough be declared throughout the country.

Earlier, the Minister of Education Galin Tsokov revealed that the quarantined classes are below 0.3% for the whole country. According to him, each school will only decide how to organize training in cases of infected children.
